The FRA has given two Tablet computers to the Bellsgrove Care Home - to help residents keep in touch with family and friends this Christmas.
The two Lenovo Tablets were presented to manager Kress Balloo (pictured centre), by FRA committee members Sara Gyngell (left) and Patty Harrison (right).
Kress said: “Our residents cannot be thankful enough for the iPads, which will facilitate more meaningful and easier communication with their families.”
The FRA’s traditional Christmas event in the village with Santa has not been possible this year, so this donation is part of the Association's efforts to refocus on those in particular need.
Kress added: “We are all so grateful that you have thought about helping us in bridging the gap in the vital communication between all the individuals living here and their families.”
Bellsgrove staff will also be able to use the tablets to help residents access online videos and games. These activities can be mentally stimulating and may help combat feelings of isolation.
Staff have undertaken to help residents get the best out of the devices.
“As far as the staff are concerned, they say you have also given us a platform to sharpen our IT and virtual communication skills!” said Kress.
Bellsgrove Residential Care Home is a small family-run home at 250 Cobham Road, Fetcham, currently providing accommodation for 15 residents.
