Fetcham is proudly showing its support for NHS staff and other key workers thanks to a 3-metre long banner near the village shops.
The banner is the idea of Gemma Skerry, who emailed the Fetcham Residents Association last week, after seeing a similar banner on display in Bookham.
With a house on the corner of Cobham Road and Orchard Close, Gemma thought she was in a great spot to host a banner that could be seen easily by people walking to the shops, as well as passing traffic.
The FRA contacted OMG Graphics and Signs, the company behind the Bookham banner, and we are very grateful to them for supplying a Fetcham version of the banner at a nominal ‘cost’ price.
Gemma told us: "I like the idea of the village showing support for the tremendous work the people on the frontline are doing for all of us. Due to the location of my house, on the corner as you enter the village, I thought it was an obvious spot to put a banner. The eye-catching images and colours used will hopefully bring some cheer to passers-by.
"My father, Ron, built the frame and helped to erect the banner as he knew it was to be located on such a prominent site, so needed to be sturdy and 'a proper job!'
Our sincere thanks to you too Ron.
