No less than two historic properties in Fetcham are opening their doors this year as part of the Heritage Open Days scheme. On the evening of Friday September 20th, Fetcham Park House will be showing off its recently restored Louis Laguerre murals. Painted 300 years ago, these murals have been the subject of painstaking work this summer by expert restorer Paul Tsangari. He will be on hand to talk about the project, together with local historian Vivien White who will describe Fetcham Park’s colourful history. On the weekend of 14th and 15th September there will also be a chance to explore St Mary’s Church, Fetcham. There will be guided tours of a building where worship has been taking place for a thousand years. For more details, go to the MVDC website and search for Heritage Open Days.
