A message from Surrey Heartlands CCG

Hits: 201

The following message is for residents attending their GP practice ... from the Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Group.

We understand that some patients have raised concerns regarding access to GP practice waiting rooms.

All general practices are required to minimise the amount of time patients spend inside the buildings to protect patients and staff from the risk of Covid-19 infection. Many general practices have limited space in their waiting areas and as a result, will not be able to have patients waiting inside.

Therefore, if a patient has been invited to attend a face-to-face appointment at their practice, they may be asked to wait outside until they can be seen. This is to reduce the risk of infection and to ensure both patients and staff are kept safe. If possible we would advise patients not to arrive too early for their appointment as this will minimise the wait time. Patients should ensure they wear an appropriate face covering and adhere to social distancing while inside.

The process at each practice may differ slightly so please follow the instructions given to you by your practice.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
