The following message is for residents registered with the Eastwick Practice.

Dear Patients, 

We wanted to take this opportunity to reassure you all, that although the way you see your GP has changed, as always, we continue to be here for you. We remain open for all our patients and if you are ill, we really want to see you! 

As clinicians, it is our goal to maximise the number of patients that we can see each day and prioritise those of you who are most sick and need us most urgently. New surgery websites were introduced across the region to help with this aim, and we have all been learning how to maximise their use. We know our new website may feel like a barrier between you and us, but we want to reassure you; every form submitted from the site is read by one of our team that day. 

As we continue to see unprecedented levels of demand for our service (which is predicted to increase yet further as we recover from the pandemic) we need your help in helping us to do our very best. Our telephone lines remain open from 8.30am to 6.30pm for urgent request or for those without internet access. For all non-urgent enquires, we would ask that contact with the surgery is made, in the first instance, via our website at www.eastwickpark.nhs.uk. Here you can submit requests for appointments, sick notes and urgent prescriptions. 

Appointment request forms can be submitted between 7am and 12noon each day. The 12noon cut off allows us enough time to ensure all forms are looked at by a clinician on the day they are submitted.  Remember, in an emergency you can call  999 or 111. 

Appointment request forms are reviewed, and appointments are offered for either a face-to-face appointment, or an appointment over the telephone or video call. The type of appointment offered is always based on clinical need and in conversation with you.  

These changes to how you access GP services, although planned, were brought forward to meet the challenges we faced during COVID. We recognise that this may have caused some concern within our patient community, in what has already been an incredibly difficult 18 months for us all. Please be assured that we remain open and are here for you. 

Finally, we would like to extend out heartfelt thanks for all the kind messages of support and for the delicious gifts of food we have received from our patients and local community organisations. We have been humbled by your generosity. It is our honour to serve this wonderful community!
